If you are like most senior engineers, you are constantly on a mission to improve the way your company does things. That includes the way you do work, the way you do things, and the way you do things. Your self-esteem is a huge issue. When you don’t feel good about yourself, your self-esteem goes out the window. You start doubting your abilities and the way you do things.
That is, until you get to a senior production engineer at a major company who is all about self-improvement, and your self-esteem goes right back to the drawing board. He’s got the job title of senior engineering director because he’s one of the top engineers in the company. He’s got a lot of experience and the title is an honor, but he is also a high-achieving engineer. So he’s a big deal.
Yes, yes, yes. You can take the title of senior engineering director from the title of senior production engineer and start building your own company. You can also take the title of senior production engineering director to be more realistic.
Well, that’s a great idea. After all, if you’re a senior production engineer, you likely have a lot of experience designing and building things. If not, it’s not the end of the world. In fact, it might give you a competitive edge to be the one that has the most experience.
There’s nothing wrong with a senior production engineer but its not the end of the world. The real point is that if youre a senior production engineer, you have an opportunity to make money from your skills. Or, if you’re a senior production engineer, there is an opportunity to be able to build your own company. But this would require you to take out five companies, which is likely to be something you would have missed if you were a senior designer.
That’s the thing, although you would have probably been able to find 5 companies to take down in the same time period. You could have done so if you were a senior designer, but you probably weren’t able to do so because you weren’t a senior design firm. You would have been able to, but you probably weren’t able to do so because you were the company that did all that research and development.
The senior design engineer at your company would probably be able to take out all 5 companies in that time period because you would not have been as busy. It really depends on what you were doing. A senior designer works on a daily basis, while a senior production engineer works on a weekly basis. The senior design engineer might have been working on something else at the same time as you, while the senior production engineer might have been working on something else at the same time as you.
I would argue that senior designers are more engaged than production engineers. For a senior design engineer to work, the designers must have been making design changes that are significant enough to require them to make some changes to the design. So, a senior design engineer may only have a few design changes that are significant enough to warrant them updating the design.
The most important thing about senior design is that they’re the ones that are doing the best job. The designers of the next generation of smart phones are like those of the 3rd world kids, trying to get all the best design ideas out of their work.
In response to that, I want to address a lot of the discussion surrounding senior design. First, let’s just say that senior design is often a dirty word. But it is a phrase that means really important, and worth using. It means that senior designers are the ones who are really doing the best job. In a world with 100x more senior design engineers, the world would still be a mess.
